When you board:

Here are the things you need to know about boarding your pet at Rhodes Countryside Kennel

We charge you beginning the day your pet is brought to Rhodes Countryside Kennel LLC, regardless of the time. If you pick your pet up before 10 a.m., you are not charged for that day. Pick up AFTER 10 a.m. is charged for that days boarding.

We must have current copies of your pet’s vaccination records, as well as written instructions about food and medications.

  • Leave a cell phone number, as well as an emergency contact.

  • Tell us about any health concerns or issues your pet has. Maybe your four-legged friend trembles during thunderstorms; maybe your cat has allergies — be sure we know so your pet has the best stay possible.

  • You may bring pet beds or blankets for your pet. Accidents do happen so if you think your dog might chew a nice bed, bring something less expendable like a large blanket.

  • You are welcome to bring toys, mark any toy or bone with your dog’s name.

  • When you drop your four-legged family member off, it’s best to leave them with a quick goodbye. It’s less stressful for your pet, as well as for you as you leave with the knowledge that we will give your dog or cat loving care until your return.

  • Employees are the only ones allowed in the back at the kennel for your safety and the boarding pets. Exception to this would be in a difficult dog/cat situation and the owner is required to handle it.  If this is the case, we ask you do not stop at the other kennels or stick any fingers inside another dogs boarding area.

  • Please bring your pet’s own food. This is to ensure no changes in diet  upset your pet's system.

  • Please bring your food with your name written on the container or bag and how much your pet get per day.

  • Rhodes Countryside Kennel LLC provides bowls so no need to bring your own.

  • They have water down all the time and is changed out twice a day.

  • You may also bring any treats for your dog. We all love dessert after dinner.

  • Sometimes pets do not eat as much when they are at the kennel, their eating habits and water intake is carefully monitored to ensure the safety of your pet.

  • Please bring any medication your pet requires.

  • Fees for medication start at $2.00 per day depending on the medication.  Prices may vary for more involved medications and handling of the animal to administor these medications.  Examples of more involved treatment and medicating of your pet would be cleaning of ears and daily ear medication and any medication that your pet will not take readily in food.(example, pets that require us to manually give the pet it's medication is considered more involved).  For more information on prices on medication your animal while boarding please contact us at 574-453-3872 or email us at wckl17@yahoo.com

*Due to the high risk of boarding diabetic dogs, we do not board any animal with diabetes.  These animals should be boarded at their veterinarian where they can be close to medical attention if required and the vet can adjust the dose of their insulin if needed if your pet won't eat.

All of the dogs are housed in their own private indoor/ outdoor run that has central heat and air conditioning. Private indoor/outdoor runs allow your pet the freedom he/she needs to feel comfortable. Our standard kennel is 5x5 indoor that leads to a 5x12 outdoor run. Each run is meticulously cleaned twice daily to ensure your pet a healthy & happy stay. The indoor area provides the privacy required to relax & enjoy his/her meal while the outdoor portion allows the fresh air.

For an additional charge individual exercise can be provided on a daily basis where your pet receives one on one play time with our staff.
